Calvin Wayman: If you are doing something that you enjoy doing then you’re following what all of these people that are big have always told us which is do what you love because then you can stick to it longer you can do the hustle that Gary V talks about the that continuing to go after it like Steve Jobs talked about and then you can make it work you know

that’s interesting now about doing what you love though coz it’s like 90 I mean not 90 hopefully not 90 maybe 50% of the time you’re not actually gonna love what you’re doing even if you’re working your passion because

(INTRO MUSIC PLAY)

Welcome! Mr. Frankie how are you my man?

Frankie Vignone: What’s up! Calvin thanks for having me man appreciate it I want to go to that speaking thing you’re doing that sounds awesome.

Calvin Wayman: It’s gonna be fun, hey! you actually came to the last one?

Frankie Vignone: Yeah! I didn’t want to say anything that wasn’t right but it was a good event last year, yeah if it’s the same ones.

Calvin Wayman: Yeah! yes so it’s a tour that Jasmine is doing the Yasemin is the host so she’s doing it in a few places the next stop is Tampa so yeah we had a lot of fun in San Diego and it’s gonna be they’re so sweet, so you basically didn’t even know that was going to be the sponsor that worked out, so bro catch me up have you been, what if you’ve been up to these days it’s been a few weeks since we’ve chatted what are you doing?

Frankie Vignone: I’m doing a lot of things man I’ve got my Frankie B company which is a health and wellness company for corporate men who want to stay fit you know through traveling and the busy demands of corporate America I worked for Cisco for almost five years and traveled a ton and a lot of this stuff we work through you know to get me out of that and to help other men incorporate America reclaim their energy and focus while they’re on the road so that’s one thing I’m running a men’s group here in Denver Colorado that we meet once a month with LEGOs.

Calvin Wayman: What do you called that again?

Frankie Vignone: It’s called Denver lady

 Calvin Wayman: Okay!

Frankie Vignone: Yeah! so super excited about that we can get into that we’re gonna actually start to plant other regional chapters more or less and kind of rebranded as elite men so that’ll be coming up.

Calvin Wayman: Are you spending more time in Denver?

Frankie Vignone: Ah kind of I mean yeah I travel, I travel a lot I mean any time you can go to one of those events like you were talking about earlier it’s beneficial

Calvin Wayman: So you’re snowboarding in also?

Frankie Vignone: Doing that, yeah! trying to try to make sure I’m balancing everything out but got to live that lifestyle.

Calvin Wayman: Heck Yeah! so let’s back up a little bit, the thing that fair anybody listening the thing that is badass about Frankie is first of all, how old are you for people that are in video?

Frankie Vignone: I am 27.

Calvin Wayman: 27, so he has a beautiful baby face except he’s definitely baby he’s like just grow a beard like yeah ,he’s a good-looking young dude so you were working for a company in a position that a lot of people would probably kill for yeah, it’s a six-figure plus position go back to before you and I even met again the thing that I inspires me about you is you ,even though you were doing quote-unquote well for yourself as a young dude in your 20’s you realize this isn’t exactly what I want to do because it’s not filling me up it’s not I don’t get to do my own thing , yeah! it’s cool to crush in like where did that happen where you were like fuck me like this is not really what I want to be what was that ?

Frankie Vignone: I mean honestly it was every single year there come a point you know how companies have fiscal years obviously so our fiscal year for my company was July- July so every year right around May like right when we get into the fourth quarter I’m like alright what’s my plan and how am I gonna get out of here like what were like yeah! every single year since I started for the last four and a half five years was May would come around a bit alright what’s this thing that I’m doing like sometimes it’d be like MLM then it’d be like a new business app or then it’d be like good whatever the case .

Calvin Wayman: We are still the same way you know, yeah! coz same thing like I was like my eight year end was December and then there was New Year’s resolution so every year I was like okay! what’s my next step, so yeah that’s so cool! how that’s the same so you’re like oh man! I got it, I gotta figure something out and you just year after year that kept happening.

Frankie Vignone: I kind of yeah, I kind of just kept throwing shit against the wall that I thought was good shit like I wasn’t doing just like anything I didn’t believe.

Calvin Wayman: Sometimes in your sight?

Frankie Vignone: Oh yeah! I was doing this as well yeah and I would never take back to an MLM because it introduced me to miss Jim Rohn and Tony Robinson.

Calvin Wayman: I freaking love network marketing and MLM some of my favorite people that are doing it the right the only if the only complaint I have around MLM and it’s the curse and the blessing at the same time and it’s the low barrier of entry and barrier is so low any fast can get in and kind of muddy it up but dude the people that are hired again some of my favorite conversations throughout the week still are conversations I get to have with my social media clients that we’re doing social media for who happen to be like network marketing celebrities and they’re like because they’re there thinking up the higher level and I’m the same way it’s what introduced me to personal development Jim right other people so yeah I’m a big fan.

Frankie Vignone: Yeah it’s sweet I mean I’ve met some really good people like I still talked to some of the leaders and some of the companies I’ve worked in and I honestly wasn’t really that ever successful in it.

Calvin Wayman: Wait! were you in what the hell was it called that was kind of like a competitor to wake up now weren’t you an Vemma , you’re in Vemma right?

 Frankie Vignone: Yeah!

Calvin Wayman: That’s how we connected coz Vemma and wake up I was in Wake Up now you were in Vemma and those two companies kind of went like.

Frankie Vignone: It’s just funny we’re talking about this because I kind of brushed my MLM past under the rug almost like it’s like a bad mark but I guess it’s not terrible like a lot of a lot of entrepreneurs have been involved in and on some shape or form.

Calvin Wayman: Dude I get it like once I’ve gotten more into my own thing , my own business yeah! like you’re doing same thing like I’ve been like well that was a fun ten years but now I’m really into entrepreneurship but no like again because of the low barrier to entry I have a soft spot for MLM man and for people that get in it because it is a perfect training ground for doing good today.

Frankie Vignone: Honestly man it’s ideal like you can get into it for I mean I think I paid like five hundred bucks because I went big like quote-unquote day and I got like everything like all the products like but then you get introduced to like all these people like that was the first conference I ever went to personal develop a comfort cyber whence you and I were talking about like dreaming big and like I’m like wait there’s this whole other world like I guess the best way to compare it is like entering the matrix obviously like there’s this whole other world of people who actually want to like do bigger things with their lives in like 99 percent of them probably aren’t going to make it an MLM but like it’s a training ground in like anything else you got to fail and like figure out who you are and like what your style is to make it work.

Calvin Wayman: Yeah! for people that actually go into it I have so much respect because it’s a real business and you have to really grind here is my only bitch about the fact the sides the fact that it’s like lower barrier and that’s awesome because that can allow a regular person that is serious to hustle and start to get exposed to this other stuff this is my only complaint my only real one when people in the industry and this especially happens at the at the top it’s my only complaint for the top and that is when they try to say that it’s it like that’s where this is me yeah and that’s what pisses me off like no it’s a real business and if you love it like don’t get so caught up in the compensation plan if you’re there like one of my favorite things I learned there that still I said helps me even what I do now my business is somebody once told me that the best compensation plan is one that you put volume into right and that makes so much sense like you could have one that pays you so much but if you’re not passionate about it and you can’t get anybody in it means nothing but if you have enough passion about it even if it’s just the love of the game and you can get volume in it then it’s awesome same with what you’re doing right now in your own business and we’re getting a little bit ahead and we’ll backtrack but like if you are doing something that you enjoy doing then you’re following what all of these people that are big have always told us which is do what you love because then you can stick to it longer you can do the hustle that Gary Vee talks about the continuing to go after it like Steve Jobs talked about and then you can make it work you know.

Frankie Vignone: That’s interesting you know about Duke doing what you love though coz it’s like 90 I mean not 90 hopefully not 90 maybe 50% of the time you’re not actually gonna love what you’re doing even if you’re working your passion because

Calvin Wayman: Yes..

Frankie Vignone: I’m like sitting here today like for example like working on I mean meal plans and like dumb stuff that’s not dumb it’s necessary for business but it’s like you got to do it and then eventually you start to outsource it and all that good stuff and I think that’s important for people to remember and like community Oh! myself.

Calvin Wayman: I am so glad you brought this up because I sometimes forget it being in the start coz man I remember when I first went after my own thing and realized this like success was not that exciting it’s like fucking boring and so okay yeah and so I think this is just a really important thing to stop on right here for anybody that’s going after anything bigger whether it’s starting their own business building their network marketing company going to school to make that give them self a skill Google using the world we live in using Google and YouTube to figure something out it’s freaking boring the thing that I think somebody who explains it best when it comes to doing what you love and also wondering like where’s that line like don’t want your love and like also realizing it’s gonna be boring it’s the difference between macro and micro Jeremy talks about this your boy you need to be doing what you love in the macro by the way I’m insane announced when I’m doing with carrot with Gary Vee it’s kind of sad but I’ll tell that in a little bit if you’re bringing it up but in the macro who do what you love so taking a step back over the last month, six months a year are you doing what you love, that’s the question yeah and in the micro it’s gonna be like hustle and grinding like doing shit you don’t love but you got to take a step back and say I’m making progress on the macro thing .

Frankie Vignone: Yeah! here’s two points on that real quick number one to go back to the MLM side of things where I learned this concept from was Darren Hardy who’s like a Big MLM guy he often grow up state.

Calvin Wayman: Isn’t he wrote the compound effect?

Frankie Vignone: Yeah! so two things from him no he was an MLM okay yeah that’s how he got started so it was that in real estate but anyways his whole thing is like what’s easy to do is also easy not to do so you gotta remember that so like going to the gym is it’s easy to do not going to the gym is easy to do to making that phone call is easy to do but it’s also easy not to do so that’s one thing the second thing is success is just a matter of seemingly insignificant choices added up over the long course of time like the compound effect so if you’re flying from LA to New York they say if you’re off just by one degree and the airplane doesn’t course-correct you could end up 200 miles north or south of where you’re trying to go and ended up in a completely different state so what the plane does when they’re flying from coast to coast is they have a gyroscope that’s horse correcting the whole way there so they can actually stay back on track so it’s those seemingly insignificant choices that add up over a long period of time and then I forgot the second point.

Calvin Wayman: I think you did this to me you did both points one of them was insignificant choices added up and the other one was it’s easy to do and easy not to do?

Frankie Vignone: Yeah! it’s just and then I mean also oh and then the other thing I’m kind of like weird or crazy but I feel like you have to kind of be to do your own thing like I’ll be sitting there at night or early in the morning when I know people are like resting or sleeping and I’m like working on dumb shit like quote-unquote dumb shit I’m just like oh this sucks I was like nobody else is doing it .

Calvin Wayman: Dude I’m starting to get little chips on my shoulder like that and growing like one other thing I’m becoming obsessed about is improving upon myself you know what like instead of comparing myself with other people like how much have I improved from where I started and dude like I just put out another video of millionaire case study my youtube show episode 90 and I’m like holy fuck I’m getting good compared to where I was like the Blessed Post is it is like Gary Vee ty lopa anybody that’s doing video for storytelling watch the fuck out you might be where you are but there’s no way you’re improving as fast as I have improved since episode one of this like that’s what it’s about it’s about doing stuff that other people won’t do it like comparing yourself against yourself but also to your point I just google this because I heard something similar with the Rockets the go to the moon. So the Apollo moon rockets pocket and I’m Rockets that went to that went to the fricking moon you think it’s like a straight shot was off course 97% of the time yeah, that’s a pretty big deal I want to say that again like for anybody that’s like working out right now on their way to work or they just heard that target moon landing law rocket launches do you think it’s a pretty straight thing the rocket was off course 97% of the time that’s insane, it’s insane if you’re if you’re looking to go after something bigger because yeah you’re gonna have the ups and the downs you’re gonna have like the grind that we’ve already talked about but it’s all about what’s your target and it’s doing what rocky said which was getting punched in the face and standing up again anyway right?

Frankie Vignone: Yes a with that cool accent

Calvin Wayman: But anyway , so we’re going down some I think valuable tangents and that’s why I like this show because it’s like a real conversation that’s not totally linear ,but let’s go back so we talked about MLM and that was kind of your thing and you were doing that kind of on the side as you’re doing your day job .

Frankie Vignone:Yeah! I thought it was gonna be my thing it introduced the same here yeah, so then yeah so I guess your question is what was I doing so it was just you know I ended up kind of scrapping that and then moved out to Denver Colorado with my with my corporate job.

Calvin Wayman: What are we you living before Denver ?

Frankie Vignone: Raleigh North Carolina..

Calvin Wayman: Okay..

Frankie Vignone: RTP Research, Triangle Park Lake right between UNC, NC State and Duke so I was around just like corporate America its who is he and then I come out to Denver Colorado for my job start doing outside sales which I absolutely loved like being out on my own making my own schedule and then I got plugged in with a really good friend of mine who wasn’t a good friend at the time but he used a fraternity brother so reached out to him and just started talking started talking about personal development and we had like that light bulb moment it’s like bro ,bro ,bro I didn’t realize you were into personal development too like there again I used to just talk about what sports.

Calvin Wayman: Was it both for MLM or was it both network marketing that got you into it?

Frankie Vignone: I don’t know what got him into it but um yeah! I was just like one of those connections kind of thing you don’t know till you ask and then he invited me out to this to this conference called the awakening back April 2000 and I think 16 yeah and then you know went there got super inspired and then basically just started building this network here in Denver and created what we called and burly men I started working with you through letters laws there .

Calvin Wayman: So one thing I was curious about when you went and found Andrew and is a mutual friend of ours who you ended up going to for business coaching and i was connected to Andrew and i ended up being your business coach for a little bit, before that one thing i was curious about is, how did you even know that investing in yourself was probably a good idea like if you wanted to get to where it is you wanted to go where did you, was it through network marketing was that it was it was like what was the search that you were like i’m gonna do something insane if i’m gonna do this and I’m gonna go find a big way to invest to myself what was it?

Frankie Vignone: I mean yeah, I was a mix of everything like I I read this book called goals by by Brian Tracy I think and it was like my first personal development book before like MLM or when all that stuff was going on and he says in the book and Brian Tracy says if you for every dollar you invest you’re gonna earn over the lifetime 30 times 30 so for each dollar you’ll earn 30 dollars worth back because people think every dollar that you and does that make sense.

Calvin Wayman: Yeah! any dollar that you investing?

Frankie Vignone: So it said thirty times it’s a times thirty investment or 300% or whatever ROI yeah

Calvin Wayman: On what you invest in you?

Frankie Vignone: Yeah! yeah exactly and he says it so the challenge that people look at when it went investing like this is what I try and tell my coaching clients or prospects like you’re gonna learn this stuff and like yeah might be a big quote-unquote big upfront cost but like the skills and the people that you meet and all this stuff that you’re gonna have for the rest of your life like it adds up and it triples out like the fact that like I invested I think it was like three or four hundred dollars at the time which was like it’s not a lot it’s really not a lot of money but it was like my first major event that I paid for out of pocket the fact that I got connected with you the fact that sparked me to create Denver Lehman the fact that it sparked me to actually put down the you know the tools to actually invest the amount of money that I did with you and then start my own business with corporate guys it’s like just those sparks those seeds that you plant just like putting it out there it’s just so huge.

Calvin Wayman: Dude it’s insane when I actually take a step back and realize this like the things like taking action or doing things like investing in yourself either financially or betting on yourself within action like yeah it’s insane when I take a step back and realize, how much has happened from a couple little things like that like even us having this conversation right now would make something , so crazy how thin of a line it is when I quit my day job I did something like I could have I could still be grinding my face off right now maybe doing something on the side work still living in Utah and like making 30 40 grand a year like yeah ,whatever I was doing if I didn’t do one simple thing and that was when I quit my day job I had five hundred bucks cash and I was like should I save this for rent ?because I have a wife and a one-year-old and don’t have any revenue coming in or should I invest it in myself in someway? and then ended up putting it in an online course with Lois house mm-hmm and what’s pretty in Kurt’s aim is I’ve connect stayed connected with some friends of that one course so many of them have blown up and gone so far a few said oh that wasn’t worth the 500 and it’s kind of because what I’ve what my opinion on is that what they how much they put into it but what blows my mind is how much that one decision you has now transferred and everything, because of that it connected me into a world of like podcasting I looked into this house I met John Lee Dumas I because of John Lee Dumas I met this guy named Nick Unsworth I was like dude podcasting is so cool I want to one day be interviewed by John Lee Dumas I went and met John Lee Dumas at an event and we started connecting a little bit he was just on my podcast a couple days ago I was on his podcast because of him I saw Nick Unsworth who I ended up hiring as my business coach but that event I wouldn’t have even known about but the only reason I knew about it was the person that told me about it was in the same Facebook group of the 500 course I bought and we happened to be living next door to one another in Southern California when I move on it’s insane like literally oh and one other thing to do is I was like I’m gonna start putting myself out on social media I did a video of myself and I was like I’m gonna go one step further instead of just posting on my social media ,I’m gonna put it in this new group oh yeah and I put it on the fricking group have this five hundred dollar course and this guy named Ryan was like dude that’s right by my apartment I was like are you effing kidding me we’re literally next-door neighbors and he is the one that told me about this event that I ended up hiring Nick Unsworth that put me on this whole trickle along path of creating my own business getting featured in the entrepreneur magazine connected to all these yada yada yada because of one thing so that is all to say that I think what you just said about Brian Tracy saying at 30 Xing what you do is so fuckin real like five hundred dollars it’s only been three years yeah like it just gettin started like every month like everything I mean I’m not where I want to be by like not even close but man I’m just getting started so yeah that that one decision that won 500 bucks.

Frankie Vignone: It was a decision that you had an abundance mindset versus scarcity because people who and the course had the same exact opportunity as you did and the same exact amount of money they put down but they were they had a scarcity mindset so they were looking for reasons to prove to themselves that and there national brain that this course wasn’t worth it this was a waste of money because they don’t wanna be wrong versus you I could pay rent or I could make a decision that could change the entire future of my family and you had to make it work because you had that abundant mindset and I see that so many times and I think another piece that you mentioned about investing because a lot of people will invest and I’ve done some investments that you know haven’t been as fruitful but it’s because you gotta take those risk number one and number two it’s what you mentioned you’re around other people who are doing the same thing so you had that accountability to actually see the course through so don’t look for like courses and coaches and stuff for band -aids but like actually try and like solve the solution and have the accountability to go further together.

Calvin Wayman: This is what I would say the biggest problem that people take with courses and the reason you are where you are right now, the reason we’re even on this show, the reason we’re growing in this world of entrepreneurship is we invested in these things while we were on the court yeah this is what I mean most people are investing on the sidelines no they’re not even entering the game that’s the biggest mistake you could ever make people think that they’re going to get the exact roadmap to get to where it is they want to go and they don’t even want to dip their toe in the water or take a step until they get it all right and then they enter it like first of all, I’ll go ,I’ll give my, I’ll give the opposite advice right now everything that I just said and how they’ve and I’ll give the opposite advice don’t invest in anything and get on the court like you will progress way faster yeah, way more by being on the court than just the course will do now if you’re in the game and you’re trying to figure it out and then you have a course to guide you along a little bit and you can actually use it or you have a mentor or somebody that can just be like do this little tweak then you do it and you actually see the results yeah but it’s just like you’re not gonna see results just if you if that’s all you do.

Frankie Vignone: Yeah that’s so true like you don’t get in the game and then the other piece to it like you gotta have three or four guys or girls that you call up at any time and be like look I’m going through this yeah because it’s so hard when you’re just starting out on your own that’s where people fall down because they just think it’s it’s all on their own but like when you know I could call you up and ugh!

Calvin Wayman: Yeah! yeah you and I had a few of those moments ?

Frankie Vignone: Yeah I don’t know if I have anything scheduled but I needed to talk kind of

yeah and it’s nothing long it’s not like it’s not like I’m pouring my heart out to you which like I could do that but it’s just like hey man like I’m not going crazy am I and you’re like actually I was dealing with out like an hour ago no dude like shut up and get back to work it’s like but like that’s where I see people fall down and that’s why it’s so important that in my business to build these communities of men specifically to like challenge the status quo and like share these things out because people just think they have to grin and bear it on their own.

Calvin Wayman: So let’s go to that kind of so let’s say so you get to the point where you’re like I want to do my own thing you knew that it was smart to invest in yourself you got around people you’re continuing to get around people you’re investing in yourself what has it been like in the last eight months let’s say like it’s been a wild ride for you because you’ve made the decision to quit the day job how did you in your own mind be like holy shit I’m gonna actually do this I’m gonna quit and I’m gonna do my own thing and what has been your process and things you’ve hit into things and what you used to overcome that like what’s that been?

Frankie Vignone: Yeah! last eight months so I love my job in September so I think it’s been five months now so like the last three months leading up to it I just told enough people where like I didn’t have a choice I had to quit like talking about those friends like I had been running

Calvin Wayman: How did you decide that you’re gonna actually do it what made you decide you’re gonna quit?

Frankie Vignone: Coz I’m just like if not now when like yeah I you know the same I could be I could be sitting here forever earlier I had a good job like it was flexible like I was doing what I was doing on the side but it was a hobby it wasn’t like the thing that I was doing it wasn’t my purpose like so I guess to answer your question I just got around the right people who challenged me who didn’t weren’t nice to me but they spoke the truth like people like you like people like my friend David people like Mike our mutual friend Nicholas in California so it’s just like you just get around those people who don’t take you know being average anymore and I think once you get challenging up by them it’s just like time to make a change.

Calvin Wayman: So yeah because you just start to see that that it’s you create a new normal as possible.

Frankie Vignone: Yeah ,yeah all my friends so I guess here’s kind of what happened like I moved out here all my friends foremost most of them like 99% of them were like doing the traditional path go to school getting a job go to college retire get a new pension or go to college get a job retire blah blah right and then I moved out here and I started just surround I think here’s what happened Kevin I just started surrounding myself literally just like dove into a pool of other entrepreneurs where like you said I had no choice but the thing about life as that being my new normal because you’re the average of the five people so like every conversation I had wasn’t about you know what’s going on in work or like what my retirement looks like or what stocks I’m investing and it was about how can I make myself better how can I make the world a better place, how can i connect and serve other people and I think there’s all sorts of different kinds of entrepreneurs but I think what’s cool about the group that the circle that you and I run in and in probably the people that are listening are there it’s they’re doing entrepreneurship not to like make a lot of money obviously that’s super important like I want to be filthy rich like let’s get that clear yes but I also want to serve a ton of people and yep just give back as much as possible because I think you know if you’re chosen to be that leader or chosen in your mind to like actually step up and give back like I do literally feel like I have no choice but to do it so pieing that so I kind of went on a tangent in that.

Calvin Wayman: No no, I’m gonna I’m gonna add to your tangent just to tie this back to the beginning of the whole network marketing conversation because there’s there was such a big difference there’s such a big difference from people that are crushing it in network marketing the right way and people that are kind of struggling and I didn’t notice that until I got around people that you’re talking about like really cool people yeah, and here’s this fundamental difference that I noticed like I went to an event I think I paid like a thousand bucks to be there it was fucking insane for me to pay that it was pretty early in my journey but a good friend of mine who’s also an abundance minded person was like dude you’ll want to be here at that one event I bumped into Robert Herjavec of Shark Tank, Gary Vaynerchuk Lewis ,Howes John Lee Dumas Tai Lopez who became one of my clients that day for one of my person for my first course I just made somebody that got me into Entrepreneur Magazine like it’s insane how much happened that one weekend, but the big thing I learned that weekend was a mindset shift that you just barely alluded to in every conversation I had first of all everybody in that room was big thinkers they wouldn’t have paid a thousand bucks to be there most people are like that’s too much money I’m not gonna go so I was like the dumbest person in that room by far which what is a good thing to do like get around other people away better than you so I was there and every conversation I had somehow turned to this so what are you working on how can I support you yeah, and it blew my mind! like they were like dude how can I support you coz again most of the time in my network marketing networking meetings they were always like how can I get you in my down line I feel like we’re trying to take ,take, take and I even started doing that and every conversation I was like I wonder if they’d be good for my network marketing business but it was so refreshing and so different to see people literally going as a as like wanting to give first and I was like holy shit! this is a massive unlock like this is like a key to get to where it is you want to go I’m just like you I have my youtube show a millionaire case study because I’m gonna be a millionaire I’m not shaving my beard until I make a million dollars yeah but the way to get there is to not be the like it’s to actually do something good to live your purpose to make a difference on the world to actually give give and then the good stuff comes so I think that’s I think that’s huge absolutely yeah for purpose businesses yeah and so a lot of people that you and I run in circles in that’s what they have is they’re not just making money they’re impacting the world they’re like sharing it they’re like a TOMS shoes or like their they’re giving back to society in some way.

Frankie Vignone: Exactly yeah I mean and just looking back at your story and thinking like how what did you go through what were your challenges and how where are you out now how people get through that faster.

Calvin Wayman: And that’s I think what I want to do to kind of start the wrap-up phase on this and that is, what have you hit into like coz it’d be easy to be like snap your finger and be living your purpose when like people just know this chances are they’re in a day job but they know they have something that they want to do that’s bigger here you and I two people that have done it that are doing it we’re just getting started but we’re we’ve dared to dream and we’ve taken action toward it first of all what said what’s a major challenge that you hit into even before you quit your day job as you were ramping up to quit your day job and what was either a mindset or a perspective or a tool or skill that helped you get through that challenge?

Frankie Vignone: So what was the what was the challenge I had Lidia want to be pudding?

Calvin Wayman: Yeah what was any challenge that you had like why is not?

Frankie Vignone: Here’s the thing yeah that’s a good question I think so here’s the thing with my with my job I had a lot of quote-unquote autonomy because I was a sales guy and my boss was pretty cool like trusting me to do whatever I wanted to so I thought I had like the whole thing figured out of like what my day would look like when I quit and like what I’d be doing on a day to day basis like what my workflow would look like as a full time entrepreneur but in reality like as a corporate employee I was only really doing one two maybe three major things and the rest was being taken care of by like other people in the company right coz I was a sales guy so like my job to go and talk with people obviously and then sell them our products and then once the products were sold I got and everything else was done yeah so after I had left I mean it was like four months or I was just like what am I doing what’s going on like the challenge of like now it’s like me everything is on me I’m HR customer service sales marketing fulfillment you name it that was on me and that was like the major challenge I saw and I didn’t expect and it really honestly knocked me on my ass for four months ,yep and then I started talking with people and I was like man what like what could I be doing differently and people are like look you’ve invested enough in yourself you know how to market you know how to talk to people like your systems are good enough like they’re not where they need to be but like revenue solves problems so like start sales cures all yeah so start sharing people your product and like tell them what you can do for them and changing their lives otherwise you’re being selfish so like I made it a point to go out and sell! sell !sell! sell! sell ! and then guess what happened Calvin like I look back I was like, hey like I got some money in my bank now like things are good and then what happened I went and fulfilled all those orders and like started creating the systems in the back end so I started actually to feel like a real like business again and I was it wasn’t like a hobby so I guess who’s going from hobby to full-time business in the way that I’ve solved that was asking mentors number, one number two pre-sales is massively important so selling it selling people that dream the vision you’re not selling snake oil you’re selling things that you can actually fulfill but like selling people like the end goal not like the process people don’t care about the process like for me for people who want to get in shape they don’t care about like how many crunches they have to do they care about what they’re gonna look and feel like so I was selling a whole healing and then I just went back and filled in the gaps based on how they’d want to fulfill that like in their own way so in reality I was doing two things I was making a concrete for myself and then number two I was making a better product for my customers and not just thinking about things that they wanted and then have to go back and switch it.

Calvin Wayman: Dude why do you think infomercials have been so insanely powerful like Beachbody that’s kind of a network marketing business and online commercial they’re shown the before and afters you, know I’m showing what people want and that’s you’re right like the the result is what they want, yeah what’s something that I remember you saying like holy shit this this question or these two questions have helped me like as you start growing you’re gonna start getting advice from different people what to do what not to do and I remember having a conversation with you but you coming back and like dude I’ve been asking these two questions and it has helped me so much ,I know yeah, so what are those questions and how they helped?

Frankie Vignone: I remember, I remember where I was what I was wearing when he told me that I was on my back porch wearing like I was wearing I think one of my companies polos and like jeans it was like a Friday I was, I was, I was watching a Gary Vee event and I remember doing it because it was the first millionaire case-study episode in in person I think my first in-person episode but anyway,

Calvin Wayman: Yeah so the two questions that you challenged me with is number one .

Frankie Vignone: What was the problem first of all why did we even bring it up what was going on like people?

Calvin Wayman: Oh I was so I was getting a lot of advice from friends who were just kind of observing from the sidelines they were like seeing what I was up to and like it was easy for them to like quote-unquote pick apart my business and like see what they would do better if they were if they were in my business so I can water

Frankie Vignone: This will happen a lot by the way for anybody that’s aiming higher you’re now moving people notice you they’re gonna look that direction they’re gonna come give you advice so this is what was happening ?

Calvin Wayman: Yeah so I was getting a lot of advice as I was as I was moving up the ranks and people were like hey you should like think about doing this for your clients have you thought about running these kind of events you should go to this event you should do that and it was getting really distracting and overwhelming I would have bet I would imagine and overwhelming and and what I read and what you told me is number one asked your ask yourself this are they in the arena that you’re playing in are they playing the same game as you meaning do you think a baseball player would take advice from a tennis player do you think a baseball player would take advice from a football player on how to have a better swing probably not so why would you change your business any differently so are they in their arena number one and then number two would you trade places with them do they have are they mentally at the place you want to be are they do they have the money do they have the family do they have the friends do they have the lifestyle that you want because people can be in the arena as you but they might be grinding themselves to death and they might not have their type of result that you were trying to go after and get exactly so those two questions really solidified it’s a very black and white thing like is this guy doing what I’m doing yes or no and then number two what I want to switch with them and I think if you can if you just take that two to heart you can really clear up a lot of the free advice you get.

Calvin Wayman: Dude and here’s the thing a lot of this advice is from people that mean super well like they love you like some of the hardest advice I know I’ve ever gotten was from like my family like my mom and like I remember when I decided to challenge myself physically and mentally and sign up for the 50 mile ultra marathon you know ,yeah, and I told my mom and her reaction was “you can’t do that you’ll die” yes I’ve heard I’ve heard of people that go sterile from long races you’re not gonna have any more kids like all this stuff to scare the shit out of me like she meant well like it was awesome and I it even scared me a little bit but then I asked myself those two questions was she in the arena no she had never she’s never run more than five miles what I trade places no so I didn’t even need to answer that second question because she wasn’t even in the arena but I think that’s so important to know because often times we might hear is it good advice or bad advice as a person care about me doesn’t care about me all that’s irrelevant like the person can care about you like if my mom was telling me how to cook a Thanksgiving turkey I would have listened she was in an arena and I’d want to trade places with that in that area but it these it’s not enough to just know if they’re smart and are they are they do they care about me because they need to be doing what you’re doing and they need to have the result that you want if you’re going to take advice and this is so huge if you’re listening to a podcast because podcasts are so easy to just give your opinion on anything that I’m saying anything that you’ve said Frankie and what other people online are doing it’s easy to post something on social media or to come up with a course or something to get you a certain result so just that’s just a good way to weed things out weed other people out and make sure you’re getting what you actually want . So I’m kind of wrapping up this conversation is exactly why I love the podcast because before we even know it let’s see like we’re gonna be like 40 plus minutes on this which is we’re already past 40 minutes which is freaking awesome with and I’m just jamming, but we’re yet now like what’s next what’s next for you over the next couple of months what’s the focus what’s the challenge what are you building on what you’re working on?

Frankie Vignone: The focus is to just pack out my 90-day challenge and really or 90 day group coaching and just get as many men involved as possible to really change the way they look at their lifestyle in corporate America because I think you can have a good life in corporate America if that’s your thing yeah but I think too many people sacrificed their health and wellness and mindset to do it to earn that dollar and ultimately it’s what’s going to end up killing them if they’re not smart about it so just helping as many men as possible over the next couple months and creating that community and then the second piece is is starting to spread what we’re doing here in Denver and bringing it to other cities to have a place for men to connect.

Calvin Wayman: So you want to do what you’re doing with Denvere lite men in different cities across ?

Frankie Vignone: Yeah! just basically to create a fraternity for lack of better terms of attorney that’s about giving back to the community serving the community working on their for purpose business and just being coming the best man that they can because too many guys are you know we’re so connected virtually which is absolutely amazing we would have never met that wasn’t the case so it’s absolutely amazing but too many times like guys can’t go up to another dude and like have a face-to-face conversation without sounding like an idiot and like feeling all uncomfortable and like stopped up and like just weird about stuff so yeah that’s we need leaders who can communicate and that’s a really big passion of mine.

Calvin Wayman: Since school like I need to go this route even more because you’re right, like it’s society unfortunately it’s just besides like going out to the bar or someplace that’s not really conducive to growth and personal development after school and stuff or after summer camp or boys camp it’s rare to have grown dudes to just bro it out and like have a good high-level conversations, okay I freaking love what you’re doing man it’s super nice great work yeah awesome well we’re gonna wrap it up here, what’s the best place for people to connect with you or find you if they want to stick to things that you’re all about?

Frankie Vignone: So just Facebook is a good spot so Frankie J big known V as in Victor IGN oh and E you can find me on Facebook I put a lot of content there if you want to check out a free challenge that I’ve got it’s just challenge Frankie Vignan calm and then my website is just Frankie V. fit and then you can find all the stuff I’m doing there and if you have questions just reach out via Facebook whatever the case maybe.

Calvin Wayman: Cool! Man, are you gonna be what’s the what’s the next event are you going to you’re gonna be at Grant Cardone Stein X or anything like that?

Frankie Vignone: I’m gonna be coming in on Saturday for that I’m actually going to a mastermind speaking of investing in yourself with Nicolas barely in Vegas so I’ll probably catch you there right afterwards.

Calvin Wayman: Sweet! so you’ll be in Vegas at a different mastermind but you’ll be in there on Saturday?

Frankie Vignone: Yeah! I’ll be there Saturday.

Calvin Wayman: Cool well I’m just gonna go and my intentions to do my first in-person podcast so super cool that’s the plan so we’ll see.

Frankie Vignone: How that goes got some people in mind?

Calvin Wayman; Uh yeah! probably just some of the speakers if they’re down I want to I’m trying this I’m trying this at two major events over the next month I’m gonna do it at 10x and then I’m gonna do it at social media marketing world.

Frankie Vignone: What’s your pitch?

Calvin Wayman: What do you mean? like to get them yeah like I’m a speaker what do you say to me hopefully it’s somebody that I already have a relationship with in some way otherwise with otherwise I’ll just ask him because I want it to be like this where I’m not just interviewing them it’s like let’s go sit down at this table maybe even bring a beer over coffee whatever we want to do and let’s jam yeah so we’ll see I don’t really have anything picked and set but social media marking world one thing I do know I want to try is multiple people like not just me person but three other podcasters like John Lee Dumas and Michael O’Neill together at the same time opposing views on podcasts but both crushing it doing their own unique thing so we’ll see we’ll see how it goes that’s them I know I know you can do it yeah thanks well looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks then my man by the time this goes out I think we’ll just be like a week out so looking forward to see you there ?
